Basically a sport and an Olympic discipline, Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) is practiced on four apparatus : vault, uneven bars, beam and floor (which is actually the competition order).
The WAG is as well a sport as an art : well after the physical performance, increasingly impressive, flexibility, beauty and technical mastery are the essential ingredients for success.
The Men Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) is a sport which consists of linking together acrobatic movements on six different apparatus : floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel and fixed bars.
All possible movements and sequences on each apparatus, for both men and women, are governed by a Code of points. A final score is appointed according to numerous artistic and technical criteria.
Our gymnasts have to be rigorous, disciplined, focused and highly motivated to achieve excellence and try to get to the Rio Olympics Games in 2016.
Lafitte Textile wishes our French representatives good luck !
